Bridger Photonics was founded in 2006 with a bold mission: to pioneer advancements in LiDAR technology and apply them to real-world industrial challenges. What began as a small, research-driven venture in the college town of Bozeman, Montana, has grown into an internationally recognized provider of cutting-edge methane detection solutions for the oil and gas industry. But even as our impact on emissions reduction scales across countries and makes its way across continents, our roots remain firmly planted in the mountain town where it all began.
At the heart of Bridger Photonics is a commitment to integrity, honesty, and technical excellence. From the earliest days, we’ve developed our technology in-house—from designing and building our proprietary LiDAR sensors, to coding the analytics that turn complex emissions data into clear, actionable insights. Today, every sensor we deploy is designed, engineered, and manufactured in our Bozeman facility. We’re not outsourcing innovation, we’re proudly doing it ourselves, right here in Montana.
Our mission is simple: enable clean, safe, and streamlined oil & gas operations by providing actionable data for methane emissions reduction. But behind that mission is a team of passionate scientists, engineers, and analysts, many of whom call Bozeman home, while others are located in energy hubs throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Bridger is proud to create high-quality, high-tech jobs, contributing to both the wellbeing of our local economy and to numerous international goals for methane reduction. From precision manufacturing, to data analysis, to customer experience, much of our work is done under one roof. And for our team, it’s not just about what we’re building—it’s about why we’re building it.

We believe teamwork, creativity, and a strong work ethic are key to our success, and we foster a culture that values not only innovation, but also balance, family, and community.
From our core LiDAR engine to our patented Gas Mapping LiDAR™ technology, everything we develop is designed to make energy operations cleaner, safer, and more efficient. Our sensors help operators detect, locate, and quantify methane emissions across the natural gas value chain with industry-leading sensitivity and speed.
With every sensor we build and every detection we analyze, we are reducing emissions, supporting safer operations, and helping our customers meet the demands of a changing energy landscape—all while investing in local talent and community.
