Bozeman, MT – May 28th, 2025 – The global leader in methane emissions data, Bridger Photonics (Bridger), announced today the launch of Gas Mapping LiDAR (GML) for Snow, a breakthrough innovation to its industry-leading aerial methane detection technology that enables accurate emissions detection even in snowy and cold conditions.

Scanning for methane emissions in snow has long been a blind spot for the oil and gas industry. Following rigorous testing of its new enhanced laser across more than 1,000 facilities during the 2024–2025 winter season, Bridger validated that GML for Snow meets the same best-in-class performance standards that customers have come to expect, and they are now aligning with operators for deployment in winter of 2025-2026.

Built on Bridger’s continually advancing laser technology, GML for Snow enables consistent, accurate emissions monitoring across all seasons, maintaining performance where solar-dependent solutions fall short. Areas that receive snow also make it difficult for ground crews to reach and inspect facilities during winter months and GML for Snow gives operators the ability to monitor in the safest and most cost-efficient way throughout the year.

“This technology is the first of its kind, and it closes a gap operators have faced in prior years and with other technologies,” said Joel Baller, Chief Revenue Officer of Bridger Photonics. “Operators don’t stop caring about emissions when the snow starts falling, and now they won’t miss a step. By helping operators reduce truck rolls and keep drivers off icy roads, we’re supporting two of their top priorities: cutting emissions and running safe operations.”
